    ANCA-PR3/C-ANCA Test

    Serine Proteinase 3 Antibodies Test

C-ANCA (Cytoplasmic Anti-Neutrophil Cytoplasmic Antibodies) Test

The ANCA-PR3/C-ANCA Test is a diagnostic blood test used to detect the presence of antibodies against serine proteinase 3 (PR3) in the bloodstream. These antibodies, known as C-ANCA, are associated with autoimmune vasculitis, particularly diseases such as granulomatosis with polyangiitis.

    • The test is valuable for the diagnosis and monitoring of autoimmune vasculitic conditions, particularly granulomatosis with polyangiitis.
    • Positive results may prompt further testing and evaluation to determine the specific autoimmune condition present.
    • Results should be interpreted by a rheumatologist or healthcare provider in the context of the patient's symptoms and medical history.

    Test Parameters

    1 - ANCA-PR3 Antibodies

The test measures the concentration of antibodies against serine proteinase 3 (PR3) in the blood, indicating the potential for autoimmune vasculitis.

    2 - C-ANCA

The test identifies the presence of cytoplasmic anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies (C-ANCA), further aiding in the diagnosis of autoimmune vasculitic conditions.

    Sample Collection

Blood samples are collected from the patient through standard venipuncture procedures.

    Collection Method : Blood Collection

Turn Around Time : Results are typically available within a few days after the blood sample is collected.

    Preparation

No specific preparation is usually required for this test. However, patients should follow any specific instructions provided by the healthcare provider.

    This Test is Used For

    • Diagnosis of autoimmune vasculitis
    • Monitoring of autoimmune vasculitic conditions

    Risks

The ANCA-PR3/C-ANCA Test is a low-risk procedure associated with standard blood collection.
